The Lagos Fashion Fair which took place from Wednesday, 7th of September to Friday, 9th of September 2022 showcased the elegance of African fashion with pomp and glamour
The event held annually this year at Eko Hotels & Suites, Lagos, Nigeria brought together the biggest names in the fashion and ready-to-wear space in Africa. The event also established an unprecedented event partnership with the African Fashion Week Nigeria – two great fashion forces together in a partnership.
The week had an attendance of over 60 designers from across Africa on the first week featuring a red carpet session and the main fashion show where models strutted the walkway in outfits of designers such as Modesty Signature, Adire Odua Ready To Wear, and Glue by Nasir Elias.
On the second day, styles in traditional attire were the highlights, along with kids’ outfits by Laura and Mo and female clothing by Liquid Fashion and Design. Popular show host, Denrele Edun, was also on hand to thrill the audience, even as he spoke about his journey in the fashion industry.
Other highlights of the event include fashion designer and stylist, Toyin Lawani’s masterclass sessions. Further, into the event, popular actress, Mercy Aigbe, spoke on the importance of getting groomed in film schools to hone skills that will last a longer span.
Popular skit maker, Samuel Perry, aka Broda Shaggi, also advised youths that they don’t need to own cameras before becoming content creators. According to him, they can start with their phones.
